Methodical introduction of an EAM
Our approach
We rely on a four-phase process model, which is based on best practice experiences and is compatible with the TOGAF® methodology of the Open Group.
Stage 1
In this stage we analyze, together with your employees, the EAM maturity level of your company and record your needs. This location determination provides the basics for defining the architectural vision and prioritizing the individual stages of the EAM initiative.
Stage 2
This stage serves to set up the EAM governance structure with the necessary structural and process organization. Together with the stakeholder groups, we design the processes and procedures that strengthen the anchoring of the corporate architecture in the company. When defining the processes for architecture management, the results of the analysis of IT maturity (stage 1) are taken into account.
Stage 3
Viewpoints are defined and validated based on the requirements of the central stakeholders. When creating viewpoints and managing information, we recommend using an EAM tool with a uniform notation, such as ArchiMate®.
Stage 4
The last stage of the introduction includes supporting your employees with training and coaching in their daily architectural work. In this way, we ensure the transfer of knowledge in the long term and, as an enabler, offer a hand in methodical questions and the implementation of the EAM initiative in day-to-day operations.
